When I am making these fritters, I have to stay as strong as steel – it is so hard to stop tasting the apple delicacy.

The fritters are not just delicious, they are amazingly delicious. This is a dessert was definitely created to make happy everyone, either children or adults.

Warm fritters with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream just melt in your mouth … But even without ice cream or whipped cream they are… Oh, no… not any more bites please…

Apple fritters



  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 2/3 cups milk
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 lb apples
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Vegetable or canola oil for deep frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Cinnamon (optional)




In a medium bowl, mix the flour with salt. Make a well in the flour and add the egg white and 1 tablespoon of oil. Stir with a wooden spoon.

Add the milk, stirring until the batter is smooth.

Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel. Let the batter stand for about 30 minutes.

At this time, peel and core the apples. Slice the apples into ¼” rounds. Sprinkle the apple slices with lemon juice.

Preheat a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350 F (180 C).

Dip the apple rings into the batter one by one and fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.

With a fork or slotted spoon transfer the fritter onto a plate lined with a paper towel. Then transfer into a platter and sprinkle with powdered sugar or powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon.
