For a few months our family cup of tea is making cocktails with cachaça (pronounced kah-shah-sah). We are exploring this new for my husband and me, but very popular in Brazil alcoholic beverage.
We’ve already made a few really delicious cocktails. One of them is chef’s Daniel Boulud caipirinha. This is his version of Brazil’s national cocktail. We really enjoyed it too.
Along with Kentucky maid, refreshing caipirinha is a great addition to a Labor Day menu.

Add the cachaça and 1 cup of ice and shake vigorously.
Strain the cocktail into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish the caipirinha with the lime wheel.
Cook with pleasure and enjoy the world!
