Since I saw Jacques Pepin making this dessert, I fell in love with this simple and stylish dessert. The original recipe calls for honey, pistachio, and dried cranberries. This way the dessert looks very wintery – green pistachios with red cranberries create a Christmas mood.
I’ve already made quite a few different cheese tortas (yes, this is my favorite cheese dessert): with trifle honey (oh, it is outer space!), with a variety of dry fruits and nuts, and with various jams and nuts. It is delicious, delicious, and… delicious!
This is a very impressive cheese dessert – tasty, gorgeous and festive. Oh, I forgot about a stream of compliments – how nice…
Coarsely grind the nuts in a food processor (use ‘puls’).
Generously brush the cheese wheel with honey.
Top the cheese wheel with nuts slightly pressing them onto the honey.
Decorate the cheese wheel with the dried fruits and berries (on the side only or on the side and on the top).
Top the cheese wheel with a mixture of honey, nuts/dried fruits and berries.
Cook with pleasure and enjoy the world!
