The lemonade is very refreshing, with a subtle taste of ginger and mint. A glass of chilled wonderful liquid will help to escape the heat during summer days. Yes, and it is extremely tasty too.
You can make the lemonade with lemon and lime as well. I personally prefer to use lime, just because in beverages, I better like its flavor and taste. The amount of sugar and lemon/lime could be adjusted to your liking.
While writing this recipe, I am enjoying a sip of ginger-mint lemonade … Oh!
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup finely chopped ginger
- ½ cup of fresh lemon or lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
- ¼ cup mint leaves, tightly packed
- Lemon-lime wedges or slices (optional)
- Chilled water (plain or sparkling)
Make the ginger syrup. For this, mix ginger, sugar and 1 cup of water in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and let simmer on very low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
Remove from the heat and cool.
Fill a pitcher with some ice; squeeze the juice of limes or lemons. Pour the ginger syrup through a strainer. Fill up with chilled water. Add lime or lemon slices and mint leaves.
Cook with pleasure!
