I didn’t write here for a while but now it’s time to come back. I just couldn’t miss the Father’s Day.
Our son lives far away from us, so on this day, I am on duty – making a special breakfast for my son’s dad, followed by a refreshing light lunch and, finally, a delicious dinner.
Today, my husband definitely deserves the best. And he deserves a cocktail for sure. Vodka martini – this is what I’m going to make for him tonight. Yes, it is a very masculine beverage. May be it is not the best cocktail for summer, but it is definitely one of the best special treats for a man (sometimes I enjoy it too).
I prefer to make it like a drink-appetizer combo – a cocktail with a rich pickle kabob (vodka likes a lot of pickles). As a result, it is a gorgeous looking and yummy treat and a happy Dad. What a great start for a special dinner!
- 75 ml (2 ½ oz) good quality vodka
- 15 ml (1/2 oz) dry vermouth
- 1-2 green pitted olives (stuffed are ok)
- 2 cornichons
- 3 green olives
- 1 cocktail onion
- 1 bamboo knot pick
Put a martini glass in a freezer.
Make a kabob from pickled cornichons, olives and onion.
In a shaker filled with ice, combine vodka and vermouth. Stir for 30 seconds. Strain the drink into the chilled martini glass and garnish with the kabob.
Cook with pleasure!
